By 1924, the ottoman empire no longer existed and the region was divided among several European countries. The effect of the downfall of the ottoman empire was regional conflict.

Typically, world war I (1914-1918) was the key factor behind the disintegration of the Ottoman empire.

In world war - I, an agreement called 'Sykes-Picot' was negotiated between British and French allies. As per the agreement, the Ottoman empire would be distributed among the European states after the spilt of the empire.

During the war, Ottoman empire sided with Germany, however, Germany was defeated by the American forces and personal conflicts and clashes also weakened the empire.

In 1922, after the failure of the agreement, last Sultan, Mehmed VI absconded and the Ottoman empire fell apart due to extreme regional conflict.

This conflict caused the formation of the New Arab and the present-day Republic of Turkey.
