Enzymes and proteins with allosteric properties different from those without allosteric properties are different based on their different dependence on substrate concentration.
What are allosteric enzymes?
Enzymes with an extra binding site for effector molecules outside of the active site are referred to as allosteric enzymes. Its catalytic capabilities change as a result of conformational changes brought on by the binding. Either an inhibitor or an activator may be the effector molecule.
Hence, allosteric enzymes and protein enzymes can be distinguished on the basis of their dependency on the substrate as the allosteric enzymes can undergo conformational changes too and can bind to different substrates but those with protein structure will depend on one only.
