In the 1970s, the U.S. economy began to shift away from manufacturers. Deindustrialization continued into the 1990s. Explain why this was so and who was affected by this shift. What were the benefits and other consequences of this shift?

Answer :

Deindustrialization means a decline (or decrease) of industrial activity in a region or in many cases, economy. This happened more and more when manufacturers realized it would be cheaper to trade or import materials instead of make them. Many people were affected by the shift. Industrial factories and businesses caused for several jobs in cities. Some benefits to less industrialization includes: less burning of fossil fuels in America, less harmful work places, and cities' populations would eventually mediate and cities wouldn't be as crowded. Some consequences would be: less jobs, the economy falters, and the US became more dependent on imports and on other countries.
