PROJECT 3-1: RESEARCH CLOUD MIGRATION SUCCESS STORIES
Est. completion time: 45 minutes
It’s been said that a wise person learns from other people’s mistakes. To build on that idea, entrepreneur and author Jim Rohn said, "It’s important to learn from your mistakes, but it is better to learn from other people’s mistakes, and it is best to learn from other people’s successes. It accelerates your own success." In this project, you’ll explore cloud migration success stories. As you research, notice the benefits realized by each company as they moved to the cloud. How did their business model change? How was their bottom line affected?
Complete the following steps:
Using your favorite search engine, do a search for "cloud migration success stories."
Many CSPs list success stories on their websites to promote the benefits of the cloud. Choose one of these success stories and read about it. Then summarize the story in a short paragraph.
Other media organizations and experts also report on cloud success stories in blogs, articles, and case studies. Choose a success story from one of these other sources (not a CSP) and read about it. Then summarize the story in a short paragraph.
Lessons learned from these stories can inform your own exploration into transitioning to the cloud. Find a list of keys to a successful migration, or make your own list based on what you read in your research. Include at least three items.
