In the hypothesis testing procedure, alpha is; the level of significance
Hypothesis testing is the method that is used to find the probability of the hypothesis that is to be proved in the future on the basis of the small population sample.
There are many conditions that can be effectively analyzed using a hypothesis test. When we carry out a hypothesis test, we are making use of information from a sample to find out if we have enough evidence to either reject or fail to reject some assumption about a population. When we make this decision, there is always a chance that we are wrong in our decision.
In all of these there is the need to determine the measurement of the statistical significance. What we use is level of significance denoted by alpha and It defines whether the null hypothesis is assumed to be accepted or rejected.
