Two major differences between life on a farm in the 1700s and life today are that their only source of heat was the fireplace, whereas we now have air conditioning and heaters. Cooking would also be considered one of the most dangerous jobs because, in today's world, we consider cooking to be enjoyable and many people consider it a hobby.
