Electron is replaced by an electron in photosystem II.
Photosynthetic eukaryotes and cyanobacteria have two types of photosystems mainly Photosystem I and Photosystem II. Electrons in photosystem II are mostly carried along by an electron transport chain and replace electrons that was lost in photosystem I. Water is oxidized to replace the lost electron, generating H+ ions and oxygen O2 ions.
The electrons that are replaced in Photosystem I they are also used to produce the moderate energy for hydrogen carrier NADPH. The photon energy absorbed by Photosystem I also produces a proton generating force that is used to generate ATP.
