in your opinion, does the darkly humorous tone of the novel make fun of the serious hardships the poor in victorian england experienced? or, does the tone seem to be adult pip's coping mechanism for finding light in the darkness?
The tone seems to be adult Pip's coping mechanism for finding light in the darkness. Dicken portrays young Pip and exposes the readers to more of his characteristics. For now, he is still a young-hearted boy.
