The first amendment is to guarantee religion, expression, assembly, and right to petition. Woman petitioned to have their rights to be able to vote at the age of 18 in the 19th amendment. Without the first amendment; no woman would have been able to try, and succeed in getting the 19th amendment signed to have their access to vote when congress pass June 1919 then ratified august 1920
