To select a very large group of cells, you can click on the first cell in the group, hold down the shift key, and then click on the last cell in the group.
Excel only saves the portion of each worksheet that includes data or formatting when you save a workbook. The last cell in a row or column may have formatting in empty cells that causes it to fall beyond the range of cells that contain data. When you print the worksheet or workbook, it may print more pages than necessary and have a bigger file size as a result.
Locate the final cell on a worksheet that has data or formatting, and then reset that cell by erasing any formatting that could have been used in any empty rows or columns before to the last cell in order to avoid these problems. To locate the last cell that contains data or formatting, click anywhere in the worksheet, and then press CTRL+END.
