a cyclist maintains a constant velocity of 5.4 m/s headed away from point a. at some initial time, the cyclist is 253 m from point a. what will be his displacement from his starting position after 81 s? answer in units of m.

Answer :

By using the concept of distance, displacement and other linear quantities we get that cyclist displacement is 690.4m from his starting Position.

Thinking diagram in liner way,A will be the starting point ,B will be the

point after A and C will be the next point  after B.

Let point B be 253 m from point A. Let point C be 81 s away from point B.

Let disp1 be the displacements from point A to point B and disp2 and be the displacements from point B to point C

First we calculate ,calculate the displacement from the point B after 81 s.

and then we calculate the displacement from the point A by summing up two distances (disp1 and disp2).

We know that Distance=speed×time

So,                          disp1= 5.4× 81

                              disp1 =437.4m

Now we have disp1 and disp2 is given to us i.e.253m

Therefore total displacement will be =disp1+disp2

                                                            d=437.4+253=690.4m

Hence, cyclist displacement from his starting position after 81sec is 690.4m
