Anterior is large fontanelle wedged between the frontal and parietal bones.
Frontal Bone- One of eight bones that comprise the skull, also known as that of the brain's protective shell, is the frontal bone. The two primary purposes are to protect the brain, such as the nasal and ocular passageways, and to support the structures of the head. Between both the frontal bone as well as the brain is where the cerebrospinal fluid is found.
Parietal Bone- As a part of the neurocranium, the parietal bone serves to sculpt and shield the brain. The parietal bone, or os parietale, is a flattened, paired cranial bone that protects the center of the skull. The brain's left and right parietal lobes are shielded by a separate bone.
