1) Using your own words, explain what a body plane is in medical terminology. List the three planes and describe what they are. Suggest some ways to make it easier to remember the names of one or more planes.
2) The terms “osteoarthritis,” “appendectomy,” and “intravenous” aren’t defined in the unit, but you can use what you learned about word parts to break each word into pieces and figure out its meaning. Define each of the three words. Then, explain how you broke down the words and what each part means.
3) Create a list of three medical terms that you have difficulty spelling, and include their definitions. (These terms don’t have to be from the lesson, but they can be.) For each term, provide an explanation or phrase to help you remember the correct spelling.
4) List and describe three methods of body positioning. Then, for each one, explain what you might do to try to make a patient in that position more comfortable.
5) Describe two situations in which it would make sense to use medical terminology. Then, describe two situations in which it would make sense to use more general terms.
