(2) Connect what you read with what you already know. (3) Reflect deeply on what you have read. Without comprehension, children do not understand the meaning of what they read. Comprehension strategies are used to improve children's understanding of texts to help them become active readers by interacting with the text. Reading comprehension is the ability to process the information we read and understand its meaning. The three levels of comprehension are the literal level, the logical level, and the critical/evaluative level.
