PLSSS HELP
LETTER TO THE FUTURE
Imagine that you are one of the philosophers discussed in the lesson. If you could take a time
machine to the current day, would you see your ideas reflected in the government of the United
States? Or would you be appalled at how your life's work had been disregarded?!
Choose a philosopher. Write a letter from his point of view to America's Founding Fathers. Describe
where you see your Ideas working effectively, or recommend what they should have done differently
so that (in your philosopher's opinion) the government of today would be better. Include specific ideas
from your philosopher and vocabulary from the lesson.

Answer :

One philosopher whose ideas are reflected in the American government is John Locke.

What are his ideas reflected in the current government?

  • Liberalism.
  • The defense of religious freedom.
  • The defense of the people as the sovereigns of politics.

One of Locke's great achievements that are followed by the American government is the assertion that sovereign political power belongs to the people and politicians must act by the popular will, which holds political sovereignty.

Therefore, a letter written by Locke would congratulate the government for giving the people the importance they deserve but would complain about how this continues to be neglected in some spheres, as the wishes of social minorities are still ignored, even though these minorities are also part of the society.

I can't write this letter to you, but I hope the above information can help you write them.
