The Roman god, Ares was famous for his anger and violent acts. He was not loved by the Roman people because he was easily disposed to rage. Ares was known for taking on the personality of Mars who was the war hero in Rome.
So, his heroic acts can be traced to his conquests most of which he won. He was however not known to have a noble cause.
