These type of revolutionaries were aware that they are denied basic rights and freedoms but were hesitant to start a revolution.

These American colonists saw themselves as "Founding Fathers" rather than revolutionaries. They were simply defending their rights as British Empire citizens. These people saw themselves as "reluctant revolutionaries" because they wanted to protect their property rights as well as their wealth.

A colonist is a member of a government-sponsored group that moves to a new country or region. A colonist's claimed land is usually already occupied by another group of people.
