Arthroscopy or Artroscophic surgery is a procedure that allows the visual inspection of a joint. This type of procedure is minimally invasive where examination and possibly treatment of the damaged joint is performed using an arthroscope. This is a very small camera that is attached to a long tube that is used to view the inside of the joint and manipulated expertly by surgeons. Small incisions are made to insert the scope which results to minimal scars after surgery. The most common joint that undergoes this procedure is the knee joint.
