You just learned three ways to solve systems of equations: by substitution, graphing, and elimination. Reflect back to the Unit 7 learning objectives and think about your confidence to perform these tasks:
Find the solution by graphing when given two equations with two different variables.
Find the solution by substitution given two equations with two different variables.
Find the solution by elimination given two equations with two different variables.
Sketch the solution to a system of linear inequalities.
Determine if a coordinate pair is a solution to a system.
In this activity, you will complete 2 tasks.
Task 1:
Answer the following questions in complete sentences and post them to the discussion board.
Which was your favorite method and why?
Explain how you applied this method to solve a quiz problem. Show us your work and talk us through step by step.
(Example: My favorite has always been solving by elimination. It’s like a fun puzzle, having to figure out which terms to eliminate to solve the variables mystery!)
Task 2:
Respond to one of your classmate’s posts with a direct quote from their post. For example, you can let them know if you found their post to be a helpful explanation or maybe if you also participate in that same activity. Everyone should be positive and respectful in their interactions - See if they have any helpful hints if for a method that was challenging for you!
