Part I: Thesis statements can be weak for various reasons (vagueness, too complicated, lacking a clear stance, etc.…). Your job is to revise each to make it into a strong thesis. After each revised statement, you will explain why you made that change and why you believe it strengthens the thesis. Your rationale should only be a sentence or two. • Part II: Now that you have practiced revising weak thesis statements, you will work on creating some of your own. Create a thesis statement based on the topics provided. The topics are very broad, so you should plan to narrow the focus to something that you feel would be manageable.
