Story
-----------------
Hill and his family were moving to a new house. He was happy because the move meant he wouldn’t have to share a room with his big brother, Harry, anymore.
“Hill, could you grab this box and carry it outside?” his mom asked.
“Sure, Mom.”
“I’ll race you to the truck,” Harry said. “Loser has to buy the winner some ice cream from the corner store.”
“You’ve got yourself a bet.”
Hill picked up the box and ran down the stairs. At 10 years old, he was smaller than Harry but very fast. He made it to the truck in no time.
“That was almost too easy, old man,” Hill joked with 13-year-old Harry. He dropped the box outside the truck so his dad could load it.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, you only beat me because I didn’t have on my running shoes.”
“Whatever you say,” he replied. “Just make sure you have your wallet so you can buy my ice cream.”
The boys realized this was probably going to be their last trip to the corner store.
“Are you excited about moving to a new house?” Harry asked.
“I’m excited that I won’t have to listen to your snoring anymore,” Hill laughed. “But I am nervous about having to make all new friends.”
“I know what you mean,” said Harry. “We’ve lived in this neighborhood our whole lives, and now we will be around strangers.”
“Are you worried about starting high school?”
“Not really, little bro, but I hope I make the football team this year.”
“You will, Harry. You’re the fastest running back I know.”
“Hill, you’re just saying that because you’re my little brother,” Harry said. “Besides, didn’t you just beat me in a race?”
“I did!” Hill replied. “You didn’t let me win, did you, Harry?”
Harry just smiled and put his arm around Hill. “I don’t need an excuse to buy my baby bro ice cream, do I?”
Hill smiled back and opened the store’s door.
