Create/make a powerpoint on this topic. don't make the slides with a lot of text, also if I need more information on the slides you can write for note cards
Topic:
Many cities suffer from serious air and noise pollution—as well as endless traffic jams—because of too many cars. Some people feel that cities with extensive public transportation systems should ban passenger cars and force people to walk, bike, or use public transportation. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not?
how the powerpoint should be setup:
1st slide: Cover & Title slide --- Name, title of presentation & relevant graphic(s) to the topic
2nd slide: Intro slide --- Introduce the topic you chose. Explain the speech topic you picked
from the list & why you chose it. Establish a brief context of the presentation so that the audience understands why you chose this topic & what the basic idea of it is.
3rd slide: History of the topic --- Share research on the topic; how you approach this slide will depend on your topic. This is a more in-depth exploration of the issue; you are elaborating on the 2nd slide where you introduced your topic. Use at least 2 credible sources to explain the issue & cite your research with in-text citations.
4th slide: Your opinion on the topic --- Share your point of view on the topic. You are
persuading the class to agree with your point of view. You are convincing your peers with logic, arguments, personal experiences & research that your opinion is correct. Use at least 2 credible sources to support your opinion & cite all information with in-text citations.
5th slide: The opposing viewpoint --- Share what the opposing viewpoint is. What is another opinion on the topic? Use at least 1 credible source to support what others say on this topic & cite your information with in-text citations.
6th slide: Refute the opposing viewpoint --- Address the opposing viewpoint & explain why you disagree with the argument being made. In the 5th slide you explained another opinion; in this slide, you are explaining why that opinion/logic is faulty and yours is a stronger argument.
7th slide: Conclusion --- Conclude with a final brief overview of your point of view & why you believe what you do. What specific personal factors influence you to have the opinion you do? What is the takeaway message of your speech? What do you want the class to remember about your topic & opinion?
8th/last slide: Works Cited --- The Works Cited will have a minimum of 5 credible sources.
Please remember blogs & Wikipedia are not considered credible sources.
