Most of the population in Venezuela is concentrated along the cost, and relatively few live more inland. It is estimated that about 93 % of Venezuelans live in the cities in the north of the country. About 1/6th of the country lives in Caracas or next to it.

Since oil exports took around 98% of Venezuela's export earning, almost all citizens in Venezuela work on oil related field. It is common for oil company to transform Venezuelan neighbourhood as part of their oil rigs site, which means that most Venezuelan live on oil rigs.
