To write interesting stories, it is important to show by creating imagery, instead of telling. Writing stories is a part of what we do in journalism. Every story begins with a sentence, but every sentence can be its own story. Here are some short stories with such great imagery, that they are successfully done in just one line:
__MCE_ITEM____MCE_ITEM__1. What if after you die God asks you “So how was heaven?”
__MCE_ITEM____MCE_ITEM__2. I traveled around the world for a year and only felt lost when I arrived home.
__MCE_ITEM____MCE_ITEM__3. “Wrong number,” said a familiar voice.
__MCE_ITEM____MCE_ITEM__4. The fool did not know it was possible, so he did it.
Create 10 sentences that tell a story in just that one line. You may choose topics that are interesting or familiar to you. This will make it easier for you to create.
