Project: Identifying and Remediating Safety Hazards to Children
Assignment Guidelines:
What must be done to ensure that an environment provides for the safety and health of children? Visit any type of setting that provides child care (a church nursery, a daycare, a child’s home, etc). Analyze the setting and determine if the environment is in compliance in relation to safety. Make a list of all potential hazards and provide a summary of the remediation of these hazards. You may use checklists such as the one found at: www.state.il.us/DCFS.
Your response must:
contain 350 words describing the setting, current safety measures, potential hazards, and recommended changes. This may be in paragraph or outline format, but should contain complete sentences and correct spelling and grammar.
fully describe the health and safety measures already in use;
Explain any potential health or safety hazards; and
Describe ways that the health and safety hazards could be addressed.
