UNIT 4 ACTIVITY
The Texas Revolution began on October 2, 1835, when Texas settlers attacked Mexican soldiers at Gonzales, forcing them to leave. After some early defeats, Mexican forces took the upper hand in March of 1836 with Santa Anna’s siege of the Alamo. When Sam Houston’s troops attacked and defeated Santa Anna’s forces on April 21, 1836, Texas won its independence.
