Part A

To find the percent error, firt find the abolute value of the difference between the ditance recorded on Dani’ watch and the actual ditance

Answer :

The percent error is -0.5%.

Given data;

How accurate a measurement is can be determined by looking at its % inaccuracy. Dani covered a total of 1,600 meters in four laps of the course. The distance was measured at 1,592 meters by her GPS watch.

To find the percent error;

Since,

((Estimated Number - Actual Number) / Actual Number) * 100 is the formula for percentage error.

1600 is the actual number.

1592 is the estimated number.

Error percentage = ((1592 - 1600)/ 1600) x 100.

                             = (-8/1600) * 100

                             = (-1 / 200) * 100

                             = (-1 / 2)

                             = (-0.5)%

The percentage error is, therefore -0.5%.
