think about the "villain/monster" archetype and all of the
characteristics one must have to fit into that particular role. You may pull inspiration from real people or
fictional characters for what being a monster consists of in personality, character, actions, and dialogue (the
way they would speak). Use the information below to complete this project.
Frankenstein is a novel about a man attempting to play God and create an ideal being that is immune to
death and disease. As Victor states in chapter 2, "...but what glory would attend the discovery if I could
banish disease from the human frame and render man invulnerable to any but a violent death!" However,
his attempt to create this perfect creature goes horribly wrong, resulting in the birth of a hideous and
vengeful aberration that haunts both Victor and his family throughout the novel. He explains in chapter 5, "I
started from my sleep with horror; a cold dew covered my forehead, my teeth chattered, and every limb
convulsed; when, by the dim and yellow light of the moon, as it forced its way through the window shutters,
I beheld the wretch--the miserable monster whom I had created."
You will consider all the important attributes a perfect monster should possess, such as bravery, creativity, honor, intelligence, leadership, and strength, and which individuals throughout history have shown these qualities. You will then decide from whom you would like to borrow each quality and explain your choices. You may use real or fictional characters, and your subjects may be used only once. You may NOT use your classmates. You may NOT use your teachers or administrators. You must stay gender consistent. You must construct a visual presentation of your being as part of your project (social media page, model, biography webpage, etc.), through which each attribute and feature is thoroughly discussed. Make sure you are creative and thoughtful in your choices and explanations. And remember, you are creating the ideal being , not slide show. Required attributes:
. Face (one person)
. Brain (two people)
• Voice (two people)
• Heart (two people)
• Backbone (two people)
. Body (one person)
. Arms (one person)
• Legs (one person)
