Tofu is also known as Li Qi[1]. According to legend, it was invented by Liu An, King of Huainan, in the sixteenth year of Qianyuan (141 BC), Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty. When Liu An was burning medicine and alchemy on Bagong Mountain, he accidentally ordered bean juice with brine, thus inventing tofu[3][4]. Yuan Hanqing thought it was the Five Dynasties that had tofu [5]. According to "Qing Yi Lu" written by Tao Gu of the Five Dynasties, Japanese scholar Shino Tian Tong "is a prince of Qingyang, cleans himself and diligently works, does not give meat taste, and has a few tofu in the Japanese market.
