Make a pie chart.
Before you can make a pie chart you need to figure out how much of the circle belongs to each category. Suppose that you earned $6.00 doing odd jobs. You spent your money in this manner:
Remembering the formula, (category/total) x 360°, you can figure out each part. For example:
($0.60 / $6.00) x 360° = 36°
Changing the dollars to cents saves confusion with the decimal point. Following this formula tells us that, when we make our pie chart, 36° of the graph should belong to the category of the tithe.
Use your protractor to measure the angles. Calculate the percentage of each category by the formula, (category/total) x 100 = %. Then label the parts of your graph.
