I have to write an article about Columbus from the 1400s~1500s (preferably around when Columbus first reported his voyage to find a sea route to Asia. 1493. ) and explain what happened during Columbus’s sea route?

Italian explorer, Christopher Columbus, reports on his first voyage to find an all-water trade route to Asia. (if you can, please tell me if there’s something wrong with this headline and if i should change it.)

My article:
During his journey, Columbus reports landing on an unknown island after months of searching for an easier trade route to the east and discovering natives already living there. It is said that these people can bring Spain’s success by providing goods and riches. Columbus believes that Spain can easily conquer the land he calls, “the new world”. In addition to his new discovery, Columbus claims that the natives can convert to Christianity and inclined to love our king and queen and all the people of Spain.
