Manzo (2005) states, “Relationships to places reflect people’s psychological landscapes, their personal issues and their particular journey in the world” (82).
Choose one character from Boyz in the Hood as the basis for your psychoanalysis. Using a Jungian perspective, how does this character’s relationship with South Central Los Angeles shape his/her identity?
Topics to consider:
• Identify archetypal images and situations and explain how they work together to create meaning.
• Locate any instances in which the collective unconscious of a character is revealed-examine its origins.
• Consider similarities and contrasts in the personal conscious and personal unconscious of your chosen character to determine whether they reflect the same desires and impulses or are in (internal) conflict.
• Examine instances in which the persona, anima/animus, and shadow of a character are revealed, including instances of rejection and projection.

Your thesis must be supported by textual evidence. Be sure to quote both Manzo and Dobie, use clear Jungian references, and provide examples from the film
