Some suras use different forms of the word jihad or striving in opposing the believer:

O Prophet, strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be firm against them. And their abode is hell, and evil is the destination. So obey no the disbelievers, and strive against them a mighty striving with it. And who is not iniquitous than one who forged a lie against Allah, or gives the lie to the Truth, when it has come to him? Is there not an abode in hell for the disbelievers?
And those who strive hard for Us, We shall certainly guide them in Our ways. And Allah is surely with the doers of good.
