Instruction
You might have heard the expression “jack of all trades, master of none” to describe someone who does many things but is not excellent at any of them. Well, Leonardo da Vinci was a jack AND master of many trades! From his artwork to anatomy research to engineering projects, he was truly a Renaissance man. He invented many items that we take for granted today.

The key to a successful invention is to solve a problem with a new device that will improve quality or efficiency for those who use it. For example, Steve Jobs noticed his daughter carrying a bulky cassette player and a bag of cassette tapes everywhere, so she could listen to her favorite tunes. To solve the problem of toting around a music collection, he invented the iPod, a small electronic device that can store a huge amount of music in a single place.

In this project you will design your own invention to solve a problem in your own life, a community, or the world! Your project will be completed in a step-by-step process with specific instructions provided in subsequent lessons. All of these steps will be complied into a final presentation about your new invention.

You may use your favorite presentation software to complete your assignment.

You have identified a problem, found a solution, and drew what your invention may look like. In this section you will reflect on the risks that artists and inventors take when creating and completing a draft.

Write one paragraph consisting of four to five sentences that describes potential risks and problems that may arise if you try to develop this invention. Use of these questions to help you answer this prompt.

Do you feel many people would use your invention? Why or why not?
During the planning process, what types of creative risks would be necessary?
After completing your paragraph, you will be nearly done with your project. Next, compile all of your work into one presentation document.

Use this list to make sure that all of your hard work is presented.
