Ecology Writing Prompt #1
Invasive species are organisms that have been introduced to an area
where they are not native. They usually spread rapidly because they don't
have any natural predators in the area. One invasive species in Arizona is
the bullfrog. It will eat almost anything it sees (even its own kind!) and has
no natural predators. Because of this, the bullfrog population is growing
exponentially and scientists have yet to find a way to eliminate them
without harming native species. What are some ways you think Arizona
Game and Fish department could kill off the bullfrogs? Design and explain
your experiment.
