You need to correctly explain each indicator as it relates to the current economy and the phase you believe it supports. What phase of a business cycle we are in is somewhat subjective. Sometimes one indicator might lead you to believe we are in a recession while another trough. But, you won’t have an economic expansion with high unemployment. Your indicators need to match the cycle and show you understand what is currently happening in the Economy and you use information to support an opinion. You do need to choose a specific phase of the economic business cycle.
