Explain the difference between an ionic and covalent bond:
Covalent bonding produces electron transfer causing the atoms to become ions
(cations and anions), lonic bonding allows atoms to share electrons.
Covalent bonding allows atoms to share electrons. Ionic bonding produces
electron transfer causing the atoms to become ions (cations and anions).
Oppositely charged atoms form ions and are attracted to each other, this can be
either an ionic or covalent bond.
