1. You and your team are planning a new expansion of buildings to the Lunar colony and you
will be in charge of overseeing the mapping of what the expansion will look like. Starting from
Building A on the map, there will be a new building, Building B, placed 187 meters North of
Building A. There will also be another new building, Building C, 84 meters to the east of
Building A. This configuration creates a 90° angle between Building B and C. Use this
information to map out what this will look like and find the shortest distance between buildings
B and C. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line.
Then, there is going to be another building, Building D, 80 meters south of Building C, and 39
meters west of Building C. Add to the existing map where Building D is, then use the
information to find the shortest distance between Buildings D and C, and the shortest distance
between Buildings A and D. Round to the nearest tenths place when necessary.
Make sure your map is legible. Use different colors for the different buildings and label your

II. You oversee the construction of a laser security fence around the new expansion. What will
the perimeter be in meters? (5 points)
