Using the Rough and Final Draft of the Declaration of Independence do one of the following:
1. Write a 2022 version of the Declaration of Independence (please keep it PG-13) addressed to
Great Britain as if we are 50 colonies seeking our own government.
2. Write a Declaration of Independence in which you declare independence from some entity.
These can be serious, funny, or both. Some examples are: government, school, a failed
relationship, technology, social media, a job, or your chores.
3. Write a letter to Jefferson about how you feel about the Rough Draft or the Final Draft.
As always, there is no word count. If you want a good score, you need to write enough that it is
clear that you understand the author's (of the Declaration) purpose, context (then and now), and
an ability to Analyze documents of historical and literary significance.
