Given a point P(x,y) on the following transformed function, describe (using mapping notation) the corresponding point on the base graph of the form y=xn,n∈N, that maps to P.

Transformed function: y = (-1/2)(x-3)^5 + 4

I am getting (x-3 , -2y-4), but the answer is (x-3 , -2(y-4)).

I don't understand why they would add brackets for y

Why is it -2(y-4) instead of -2y-4 ?
