Reread Xiomara’s rough draft and final draft of assignment three beginning on page 179.
You will write a piece of prose and a piece of poetry about someone you feel is misunderstood by society. You could write both pieces about the same person or about two different people.

Brainstorm
What does it mean to be misunderstood?
Who are some people you think others just don’t understand or get?
What does society have wrong about them?
people do not understand them and have a wrong impression or idea of them










Poem
Write a poem about someone society misunderstands.
Your poem should have at least 10 lines, but could have more.
Your poem should have at least one metaphor, simile, rhyme, or other clear poetic devices
Your poem must be original and written for this task.
Remember how your poem looks on the page should be intentional and is important.
