The essay ends with a concluding paragraph that restates the thesis statement and briefly summarizes the main points covered in the essay. An informative essay is always written from the third-person point of view.
A narrative essay, on the other hand, tells a story. It includes all the elements of a story such as characters, setting, plot, and dialogue. It starts with an introduction with an interesting hook to get the readers’ attention. The introduction paragraph typically also introduces the characters and the setting of the story. It is followed by the body paragraphs that describe what happens to the characters in the story. The third (last) body paragraph includes the climax of the story, which is the turning point. The story ends with a conclusion that resolves the conflicts of the story. A narrative essay is written from the first- or third-person point of view.
Choose either a narrative essay or an informative essay to reexamine the topic of the diary entry that you’ve chosen. Then, write a one-page essay in the type that you’ve chosen.
