The British had spent so much time in the Northern Colonies, they thought they would see what the Souther colonies had to offer
The British thought the Southerners would be more loyal to King George than their Northern neighbors.
Southerners were more sympathetic to the British army and they had more tories in the South.
The Southerners were tired of fighting the Natives, so they didn't want to have trouble with the Red Coats.
