A Morning Boost
Drinking a cup of coffee every morning is one of the best ways
to jump-start one's daily routine. Recent studies have shown that
more than 80 percent of Americans drink coffee. Rituals such as
drinking coffee provide a life rhythm that provides consistency
and comfort. Additionally, the caffeine in coffee provides an often
needed "wake-up" jolt that improves focus, alertness, and
memory.
Some people criticize the coffee habit because of the effect of
caffeine on the body. It is true that excessive caffeine can
increase blood pressure and decrease bone density. But in
moderation, coffee actually has a number of health benefits,
including reduced risk for diabetes and Parkinson's disease.
Clearly, the human body was made for a morning boost of
coffee!
