We know that science is composed of many fields and specialties. In effect, there are so many expatriates that compose science. It has been highly compartmentalized and departmentalized that someone may think that they could be no synergy between the myriad of academic disciplines in science.

However, in the case of public health emergency, the various fields that compose science could come together to find a solution. In the case of the influenza virus that emerged from pigs, there could be scientists from many disciplines working together to solve the problem.

The microbiologist studies the nature of the virus while the pathologist examines how the  virus interacts with human systems. The pharmacist could work together with the biochemist to produce the possible drugs that could be used to contain the infection.
