−7 5
−3 4
3 5 over 2

Part A: What is the slope from (−7, 5) to (−3, 4)? Show every step of your work. (1 point)

Part B: What is the slope from (−3, 4) to 3, five halves? Show every step of your work. (1 point)

Part C: What do the slopes from Parts A and B tell you about the relationship between all the points in the table? (2 points)

Answer :

The slopes, I can see that Part A is increasing while Part B is decreasing.

What is the slope?

The term slope is obtained from; the formula;

m = y2 - y1/ x2 - x1

Let us now obtain the slope in each case

1) m = -4 - (-7/2)/4 - (-2)

m = -1/2

2)

x1 = -2

x2 = -1

y1 = -12

y2 = -7

m = (-7) - (-12)/ (-1) - (-2)

m = 5/1

m = 5

3) y = 4.98x + 2

The slope (m) is 4.98

4) m = 2 - 0/5 -2

m = 2/3

5) m = 4 - (-8)/(-4) - 2

m = 12/(-6)

m = (-2)

Part A;

m = 4 - 5/(-3) - (-7)

m = (-1)/4

m = 1/4

Part B;

5/2 - 4/3 - (-3)

m = -3/2/6

m = -1/4

From the slopes, I can see that Part A is increasing while Part B is decreasing.
